Anika Noni Rose is an American singer-actress. Her best-known role is as Tiana, Disney's first African American princess. The film was awarded her the title of as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1972) is an American performer and actress. She is best known for the role of Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the first African American Disney princess. In 2011, she was honored as an Disney Legend. The actress is also known for her performances as Lorrell in Dreamgirls which was an Academy Award winning film (2006) and as LaVerne in the Starz's Power. Her name has been praised for her theatre performances, including her leading role as Caroline or Change Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway in which the Tony Award was won for Best Actress in musical.
